Long Distance Relationship
Many people don't plan on being in a long distance relationship. Usually, it's something that just happens because of a job assignment. And it happens to people in the military all the time. Learn how to better deal with a long distance relationship here.
Love Across the Miles
If you're in a long distance relationship, you should take advantage of today's technology to stay in touch. Having a daily phone call, emails or a daily chat session to look forward to can make all the difference. And you know those breaks in a conversation when neither of you is saying anything? If you're in a good relationship and you miss each other like crazy, that silence is just fine. It's like the person is right there sitting right next to you on the couch. It sounds weird, but if you're in a long distance relationship, you know what we mean.
And even though "snail mail" seems so archaic, it can also be romantic and meaningful to long distance relationships. Why? Who wouldn't cherish a handwritten love letter from your lover? It doesn't even have to be a romantic love letter. Just knowing that that person took the time to sit down and actually write a letter to you at all can mean the world when he or she is a world away. Of course, email and chat sessions are good too. Then your long distance relationship becomes sort of a version of an online relationship too.
And why not take it a step further? Women in a long distance relationship could send their men a "care package" with cookies and other homemade treats, maybe a letter with your perfume sprayed on it lightly....anything to remind him of you. And men--sending flowers is always a sweet gesture, but especially if do it when your hundreds or thousands of miles away.
